Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair Removal is offers a fast simple and effective permanent hair reduction of 90-95% with a series of 5-8 treatments. Treatments needed vary form person to person.

The laser targets melanin in the hair and travels to the hair follicle. The light is absorbed by the hair and damages the hair follicle. Once the follicle is destroyed it will no longer produce hair causing the reduction in hair growth.  To receive optimal results all laser appointments should be scheduled 4 to 6 weeks apart. It is imperative to keep your appointments on schedule to minimize the amount of treatments needed to insure optimal results.

Are you a candidate for laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is a safe and effective treatment for unwanted hair for both men and women. The best candidates for laser hair removal are often people with light skin and darker hair. This is because the laser targets pigment and when your skin is lighter pigment less energy from the laser is focused on the skin pigment and leaving the darker pigment of the hair follicle to receive the majority of the laser strength. Our Apogee elite is safe for all skin types but treatments needed may vary to each persons individual needs.

What to expect during a laser hair removal treatment?

For every laser hair removal treatment we use a numbing cream to help with any discomfort. The most discomfort from laser hair removal is a small stingy sensation often compared to a rubber band snapping. This is a natural reaction of the heat building up in the hair follicle. As your treatments proceed the hair follicle produces thinner more fine hair and retains less heat reducing any discomfort you may feel. Some redness may occur during treatment but this will subside shortly after treatment. This is a natural histamine reaction built up from the heat in the hair follicles and will dissipate. If this reaction does occur we do provide an anti-histamine medication as part of your treatment.
